The Democratic Party is dead and deserves a decent burial alongside the Whigs and the Know-Nothings. Unfortunately, it continues to serve the political establishment as a way to insulate the system from a truly Leftist politics and so will be propped up by members of both parties and made to appear as if it can fog a mirror for as long as possible.
