This Is NOT Only A Test...

Things will be coming to a head with the Trump Administration. Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and Obama all drew smiley faces on murderous policies. Bush II tried, but all he could really muster was some comic relief along those lines. Trump will do no such thing. He knows that we no longer live in a Republic (despite all of our denials). We are Voracious Consumer Capitalism Armed and on the march. And since he has no conscience to speak of, Trump thinks, “Sure, why not?” When the mask is finally removed and people all over the world see Darth Vader’s mutilated face, the revulsion will send us in a new direction—hopefully. This is a test, but it is not only a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. Virtual Reality ain’t got nothin’ on what’s coming next.

Latte Liberalism And The Death Of American Democracy

"The very principle of democracy is founded on the possibility of making alternative choices. There is no longer a need for democracy, since [liberal] ideology made the idea that 'there is no alternative' acceptable."

~ Samir Amin, The Liberal Virus (2004), 21.

Take Barack Obama, For Instance...

It is remarkable that some thinking people can distinguish between biography and hagiography when the subject is a religious figure, but are incapable of making that same distinction when the subject is a political figure.

Like his hero Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama is becoming the subject of hagiographies. But will history be so kind?

DEAR PROGRESSIVES: SEND A MESSAGE TO NEO-LIBERAL DEMOCRATS

Only mass defections of Progressives from the Democratic Party will send the needed message to the DNC. It takes two minutes on-line to change your registration. It is a political act with potential consequences (unlike, say, FB posts). If you don't have the time or political energy to send such a message to the Party of Clinton, how will you find the time or political energy needed to stand up to Trump? And if you think Sanders and Warren will come to the Democratic Party's rescue, just remember this: When push came to shove, they BOTH supported Clinton.

America's Epitaph

In the alternative, try this: "If the Liberals had only been able to stop posturing just long enough to think..."

Socialism 101

The Greens represent Democratic Socialism while the Democan-Republicrats represent Corporate Socialism. Blue "vs." Red (the "vs." amounts to little more than political theater) gets us more of the latter while Green vs. Blue-Red (i.e., Plutocratic purple) gives us a fighting chance for the former.

The Smoking Gun

All through the 2016 election season I had a hunch--and stated publicly--that Trump was a "head-fake," the Democrats’ stalking horse. As it turns out, my hunch was right: the leaked Podesta emails are the smoking gun.

This hunch gave me the confidence to anticipate that Hillary Clinton would be elected; I assumed that the Democrats were pursuing this strategy because they knew it was a winner. After all, the Clintons are close with the Donald and are old political pros themselves.

But, as it turns out, they are not only corrupt, they are incompetent.

All the self-pity of the Democrats in defeat is really unbecoming. Spare me. History is the record of unintended consequences. Own up to your own complicity in Trump's election, clean house, and return your Party to its historic opposition to the Plutocracy.

True Progressives in the Democratic Party: I call on you to get woke! #DemExit.

There Is Only One Option Now

Dear Progressives:

In the wake of the leaked Podesta emails and the Republicans' triumph at the polls, there is only one choice open to you: flee the Democratic Party as fast as you can. Do not heed the calls to regroup. Do not feel any remorse for the Clintons or their failed strategies. Flee now and join the Greens. Otherwise, you will simply be fulfilling what was written long ago:

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

~ 2 Peter 2:22.

An Election Reflection

In the wake of yesterday's Presidential election, I feel a strange sort of elation—like the feeling you get when you stop hitting yourself with a hammer...

Both the Donald and Killery are poster-children, in different ways, for the White American Id. As the leaks of the Podesta emails confirm, the DNC, acting on behalf of the Clinton campaign, torpedoed Bernie’s chances and the Clintons elevated the Donald because they thought that they could use him as their stalking horse. The plan back-fired. That’s democracy for you.

The Democratic Party needs to split now. Let the neo-Liberals and Fauxgressives sign on with the Republicans and let the Progressives join the Greens as I did when Bernie left us standing at the altar.

And then let us move forward in hope.

Life In Clintonia

The Liberal lap-dogs of the Plutocracy have been preparing for months to blame the miniscule American Left if Donald Trump manages to pull victory from the jaws of defeat on November 8th. Those of us on the Left, however, know better. The only reason that Trump has a snowball's chance in Hell of being elected is due to the DNC's behind-the-scenes maneuvering on behalf of its candidate, Hillary Clinton, to assure her nomination. The DNC pursued this course knowing full well her established track record of war-mongering and scandal.

Her war-mongering disgusts voters on the Left and the Clintons' penchant for benefiting themselves and their fellow crony capitalists at the peoples' expense is even too much for many on the Right.

That said, Liberals and Fauxgressives still dominate National politics--and will continue to do so at least long enough to elect Clinton to her single term Presidency. At that point we, and the rest of the world, will have to endure life--and also violent death--in Clintonia.

But a new breeze is blowing through the Imperial center. Clintonia will be the Liberals' last hurrah.

What Would Ayn Rand Do?

So I've been thinking...Maybe I have this whole election thing wrong. After all, I'm doing just fine under the status quo. Shouldn't I be supporting Hillary Clinton, a candidate who represents the establishment and can therefore be relied upon to protect my privileges? It's crazy for me to support Jill Stein and vote against my own self-interest. Not only that, but if I vote for Clinton, I can congratulate myself for saving the world from President Trump (even though I know he's just the Democrats' stalking horse). A vote for Clinton is a win-win for me. How could I have been so blind?

Honestly...

I just don’t understand all the outrage at the Donald. He’s the same dirt-bag he has always been. So how can any of the recent "revelations" about his misogyny and vulgarity be news to anyone? I’m forced to psychoanalyze: Liberals are trying to justify their impending election of Killery. Trump (the “T” is silent) is a paper tiger.

2016

Any kind of organized revolt against the Party, which was bound to be a failure, struck her as stupid...He wondered vaguely how many others like her there might be...who had grown up...knowing nothing else, accepting the Party as something unalterable, like the sky, not rebelling against its authority...

Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall

Dear Democrats:

If you're unwilling to cast an anonymous protest vote against BOTH Trump AND Clinton, why should anyone believe you when you claim that, after you've elected Clinton, you will take a public stand against her war-mongering?

Tell me, exactly, what you plan to do.

You didn't stand up to Obama's war-mongering. No, you looked the other way. And you will look the other way when Clinton is in the White House and the imperial wars go on and on and on...

The truth about you is this: You love the privileges that you enjoy under Empire, and you know that Hillary Clinton will keep them secure.

The rest of the world can burn for all you care.

Don't Blame Me, I'll Be Voting For Jill Stein

The Republican Party will survive a defeated Donald Trump--but will remain a twisted mess. The Democratic Party will not survive a Clinton victory. Any true Progressives left in the Democratic Party will revolt by the 2018 mid-terms.

Bernie Sanders will continue his downward slide into political ineffectiveness and obscurity.

In the next five years, the duopoly will fracture beneath its own untenable weight. When the dust settles, there will be the Tea Party, the Clintonian Neo-Con Republicrats, and the Greens.

The Electoral Game Of Chicken

In U.S. politics, third parties must overcome a well-trained electorate's blindered inability to break free from binary thinking. But even those who learn to think outside of the duopolistic box must overcome a secondary obstacle: cowardice. A third party challenge tends to involve voters in a game of "chicken" where those who may be inclined to support a third party candidate fail to do so because they are unwilling to cast a vote without the assurance that others will vote as they do. Of course, third party candidates must get votes in order to be elected and so this kind of electoral cowardice becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

In addition, binary thinkers will often bully or scapegoat voters who support third party candidates by telling them that they are "throwing away" their vote or electing the worst of two evils (the "lesser" of which they have placed on the ballot in the first place). Unsurprisingly, each of the two options in the binary choice model is considered to be the "lesser" evil by his or her supporters.

What binary thinkers ought to do instead is emulate in the voting booth the character and courage of those who are capable of breaking free from the binary.

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
In lemming-like group-think

Jill Stein In Colorado Springs

On March 29, 1980, I joined the thousands of Pittsburghers who jammed into Market Square to hear Ted Kennedy challenge Jimmy Carter for the Democratic Party's nomination for President. It was a gutsy move to try to derail the candidacy of a sitting President, but Carter's four anemic years in the White House required a Progressive response and, at the time, Ted Kennedy seemed to be the most likely figure in American politics capable of pulling it off. I still recall the thrill of seeing and hearing Kennedy--the charisma was in full force that day as Ted challenged Carter to stop wrapping himself in the flag, exit the Rose Garden, and explain to the American people why he deserved a second chance.

The electricity of that moment was only surpassed later that Summer when Kennedy gave his "the dream shall never die" concession speech at the Democratic National convention.

Since then, few candidates running for the highest office in the land have inspired much more from me than cautious optimism. Most have invited ridicule. The rare exceptions have been the Barack Obama who ran for office in 2008 and the Bernie Sanders who ran for office in 2016. Yet both, in their own way, have proved to be disappointments.

This afternoon, in Colorado Springs, I saw Jill Stein speak before a SRO audience in the sanctuary of All Souls Unitarian Universalist church. What Stein lacks in Kennedyesque charisma she more than makes up for with her sharp intellect, her fine sense of moral outrage, her wit, and her earnestness.

When Bernie Sanders chose to abandon his campaign and endorse Hillary Clinton for President, he went from being the most interesting American politician on the national scene to being "Bernie Who?"

Forget him. For whatever reason, he lost his nerve and got off the bus.

Clinton and Trump are two disasters in the making. No one deserves the genuine Progressive's vote more than Jill Stein.

Are You Naive Or Savvy?

In 2016, taking a principled stand on any political question is considered to be naive, while voting for a war-mongering plutocratic political opportunist is considered to be savvy.

So, by 2016 standards, this is how it looks:

Naive

Savvy

Got it?
